What It's About:

Once again, assumed identities and misunderstandings provide suitable pretext for the divine duo's sublime dancing and delivery of a Gershwin score (sadly, George's last). Ballet dancer Pete Peters (Astaire), known as Petrov, wants to meet music star Linda Keene (Rogers), and boy, does he. Soon false but persistent rumors of a clandestine marriage between the two force the couple to actually marry so they can divorce, but along the way, in between some glorious singing and dancing, they fall in love.

Why I Love It:

Seventh Astaire-Rogers outing finds the formula still fresh, aided by a tip-top Gershwin score (including "They Can't Take That Away From Me" and "Let's Call The Whole Thing Off"), and the return of series veterans Edward Everett Horton and Eric Blore, who, as always, supply delightful support. And just behold that dance on roller-skates!
